Matar Paneer (Green Peas & Indian Cottage Cheese Curry)

 




Green peas and paneer are commonly used in Matar Paneer. It is typically prepared with cream, tomatoes, and spices. Ingredients:

Cottage cheese or paneer – 500 gm

Peas – 500 gm

Peanuts – 50 gm

Coriander seeds – 2 tsp

Whole dry red chillies – 4 nos (optional)

Tomatoes – 2 large (Make tomato puree)

Onions – 1 large (or 1/2 cup chopped)

Green chillies – 2 nos (optional)

Cashews – 4 nos (optional)

Red chilli powder

Turmeric Powder

Warm Water

Method of Preparation:

Dry roast the peanuts, coriander seeds, whole dry red chilies, and cashews first. Grind until finely powdered.

Heat the oil in a kadai.

Deep fry the paneer cubes and then soak them in warm water.

To make the curry, add ghee to the oil in the pan or kadai. You can also use only ghee in the pan.

Next, add shahi jeera, chopped onions, and chopped green chilies.

Add the cashew peanut powder and mix well.

Mix in the turmeric and chilli powder.

Add the tomato puree.

Add salt

Stir well

Add the required amount of water for the curry

Add the paneer cubes
